Thai Golf Courses - Thai Country Club

Recently immortalised in Thai golfing history by Tiger Woods' win at the 1997 Honda Classic Invitation Tournament here, the Dennis Griffiths designed Thai Country Club is now almost certainly destined to become the home of some Asia's most important golfing events. At only 35 km. along Bangna-Trad highway, the course easily accessible from Bangkok and the Eastern Sea Board, and with it tournament history and challenging layout is definitely to be enjoyed. Following a recent redesign, the course is renewed for its attention to detail-the grass was imported from Hawaii and grown locally-and really is on of the finest in Asia.

Disappointed with this overated and overpriced course. Course design rather straightforward, flat and not very challenging. Not very scenic too. Greens were in bad condition. Caddies were friendly but not very helpful. Club house well run and beautiful.

Course is excellently maintained, clubhouse is the best in Thailand, and the staff have always been extremely nice, and the cold towels at the kiosks are a great idea, the one bad thing that I will say is, they are repairing the greens, and to charge the full price when 4 - 5 greens at a time are being repaired, is ridiculous. In the US, premium courses often will discount 50% just for aerating and sanding the greens.

Get rid of that stupid, idiot Swiss General Manager. He is an absolute asshole. Forgot what service is all about. Too arrogant.

Apart from ragged greens on the first nine this course is tops. Speed of play was brisk even on a crowded Saturday morning. My Thai partners felt the marshalls were too pushy however to speed play up. Drinks were overpriced. Clubhouse food was aroi!
